Personality: Despite her usual smile and sociable nature, Rin can be an extremely mean person depending on her mood. While she takes to responsibility incredibly well and works tirelessly to retain dominion over her abilities, she can be petty, vindictive, and rude; such emotions often manifesting in the presence of snobby and/or arrogant individuals. Her attitude towards her subordinates is usually friendlier than supervisory, though it has been noted on many occasions that she is indeed willing to die for her troops, which often places her in the direct fire-lines of Seieretei’s enemies.

Other than a bad temper and an equally powerful revenge mechanism, Rin is impossibly friendly, tactful and kind, finding it difficult to enter a situation without smiling. Fortunately, she is able to balance her pleasantries with proven honesty and commitment, which often wins both the respect and admiration of her followers. In battle, she is serious only when there is a recognizable difference in power, in which case, she has been known to become quite callous. She personally dislikes killing others, though she will do so if the situation calls for it. She usually spends most of her free time in the company of Shunsui and Nanao, Kenpachi and Yachiru, Ukitake, Matsumoto, and of course, Kaikuro.

Zanpaktou Spirit: A young woman adorned in gold clothing, and ‘lucky’ charms, suitably dubbed lady luck.

Sealed Form: Much like a regular katana with a lengthened, hexagonal shaped tsuba that sports a fairly simple cut out pattern internally; only a fraction of the inner portion of each side facing removal. The blade itself, along with its trimmings, is silver in colour, while the hilt wrap sports the same pink shade as her obi ribbon. At the base of its hilt, a long ribbon that exceeds the swords length is hooked in, also harbouring the same pink colour.

Shikai Appearance: Once her blade enters Shikai, it becomes much larger; the base itself simplifying to a long, rounded strip of black metal with a red orb poised at the base. Her tsuba becomes much larger and takes on a more vertical placement; the blade itself is hinged inside of the tsuba, allowing for its usual bent state to be ‘straightened’ in roulette. Such hinging offers a full 180 degree backswing when abilities are not being utilized, but locks into place once roulette is actually entered. At the front of the tsuba there are three separate panes of windowed glass, which are usually blank until its abilities are invoked, but offer a slot like spin prior to the blade being straightened.

Shikai Abilities: Essentially, her Shikai’s form has only one, multi-use ability. Ru-retto (Roulette) is entered by a swift jerk of the swords hilt, which forces the blade into straightening mode. The blade itself does not fully straighten right away, but the motion does cause the three windows to start a slot roll. When these slots have landed on a randomized selection, the sword itself changes colour based on this selection, and straightens out entirely before locking. Gold signifies a massive increase in offensive power, Silver signifies a massive increase in speed, Bronze signifies a massive increase in defense, and if it remains Black, signifies no statistical increases, but rather all-around statistical decreases for those it cuts. Each Roulette can be used for as long as she deems necessary, but once it is switched out, she will be unable to activate that particular spin for one half hour following its sealing.

Bankai Appearance: There are no physical aesthetic changes to her blade when Bankai is entered, but abilities are heavily differentiated. She also gains an outfit similar to that of her Zanpakuto’s spirit—a fairly bikini-like gold top and matching mini-skirt, a pair of high-gold go-go boots, and heavy sets of gold jewellery. Her hair pieces are removed as well, while her hair is placed in a long, flowing ponytail. [link]

Bankai Abilities: While her blade retains its Shikai form, its abilities are further enhanced by an increasingly risky set of rules. During said release, Rin gains three main methods of formal attack, which all rely heavily on luck.

Magas Ro-ra (High Roller):
Probably the simplest utilization, Rin will open up the base of her sword, and retrieves three-pair sets of seven sided die. All must be rolled once, and must remain in effect for at least one half hour before they can be re-rolled or removed from play. The red (light red deals with defense, crimson deals with offense) dice deal with personal statistics, the blue (light blue deals with defense, dark blue deals with offense) dice deal with enemy statistics, and the black and white die deal with the + or – factor. Regular stat die possess multipliers/dividers of 10X, 20X, 30X, 40X, 50X, 75X, 100X. Black (Enemy) and White (Personal) deal with whether your factoring number is a multiplier or divider. Enemies gain one extra multiplier shot, while Rin gains one extra divider shot, making the probability of increasing an enemies power and decreasing one’s own a 4/3 shot.

Kajino Roiyaru (Casino Royale):
Rin enters a process very similar to her Shikai’s roulette phase, though instead of changing the power of the sword itself, it creates temporary, administrable effects that affect an enemy the very moment they are cut by her phased blade. If, however, she achieves the Joker’s Wild slot, the poisoning is immediate, and will administer each of the slots debilitating effects in a slow burning manner, before ultimately causing death. (It should be noted that Kaikuro has an antidote developed.)

Toranpu Go Kaku (Five-Card Draw):
Rin tosses her blade up into the air with a spinning motion, forcing the sword into a series of perpetual back spins that revolve up to ten times before returning to her hands. During this time, five cards are ‘spit out’ from the revolving hinge mechanism, and float purposely into Rin’s hands; sword following the descent of the last fallen playing card. These cards are picked entirely at random, and can be combined to form various statistical boosts. Once a chosen combination is determined, these cards disintegrate, soon to be ‘absorbed’ by the sword itself, save for hearts, which are directly absorbed into Rin’s hands. All cards do not have to be used at once, and can be saved simply by ‘ pocketing’ them in a small salvage slot located within the hinging mechanism. It should be noted that only five cards can be in play at once, and to draw more, one must discard others. If 54 (two jokers + standard deck) are used up, this ability becomes unusable until it is given adequate time to renew itself (usually up to a weeks’ time under normal conditions). If a ruling card is drawn, it cannot be used in conjunction with any other cards unless a joker card is also applied to the running total, and a regular face card may only be utilized with one other card without the application of a joker card. All statistical advantages are temporary, and begin to wear down after the initial 10 minutes of play, making strategic utilization incredibly important, especially given the lengthy recovery period of this attack set.

--Shunpo (Flash Step): A high-level Shinigami art that allows the user/Shinigami to "warp" one's self (entire body) to another place.
--Utsusemi (cicada, molting): Moving with incredible speed, they leave behind an afterimage, which is exactly alike them, which vanishes when they reappear; making them seem faster than they actually are. It is possible to use it to get to one point, stab an opponent, then go straight back to your afterimage without it vanishing; making it seem like you hurt them without moving. The afterimage could be noticed due to the fact it is unaffected by nature: rain will go though it, and it does not breathe.
--Bakudou #61 - Rikujoukourou ("Six staves of binding light"): Movement of the opponent is bound by six bands of light.
--Hadou #33- Sōkatsui : (blue fire, crash down )— Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at a target in a similar manner to 31, but over a wider area and with more power. Incantation: "Ye lord! Bio: Rin was not actually born in Soul Society, and actually spent the first seventeen years of her life travelling the world with her parents, who both had incredibly lucrative careers in the fashion industry. While her father (Yukio Rurousha) was the C.E.O of a major fashion industry giant, her mother, (Midori Rurousha) was its top paid super model. Unfortunately, her parents had given birth to her far too early on in their relationship, and were unable to effectively adapt to the onset of this new responsibility. Rin changed schools constantly as a child, but despite her inability to remain in one place for very long, she never seemed to have any trouble making friends or thrusting herself into attention’s center. Her diverse upbringing allowed her to learn many different languages, and obtain a significant understanding of world culture; while the influence of her parents gave birth to a strong knack for social graces. Around her seventeenth birthday, her family had at long last returned to Tokyo, and seemed to more or less settle down. Of course, seventeen years of neglectful parenting took quite a bit of time to heal, and Rin never truly got the chance to obtain reconciliation.

A few months after returning to Japan, Rin had gone to a rather fancy gala with her parents to celebrate her father’s 40th birthday. While drinks and dancing ensued, the air of the night had inevitably been a sour one. As she was set to make a celebratory speech in his favour, and all the hall had been bathed in silence, a rather loud bang had issued from the distance; something that sounded unreasonably like a gunshot. Before she could begin to speak, an uncomfortable level of realization had washed over her, a sharp pain welling deep within her chest. A deep crimson colour soon began to overtake the soft pink hue of her gown as silence consumed the room. A lone gunman stood between the hall’s doors, a heavy grin poised across his lips. Smiling, he spoke in a triumphant tone, “you took my job, my wife left me, I couldn’t afford my daughter’s medication...You took everything from me... This is justice, my friend. Oh, and Mr. Rurousha—Happy Birthday.”

Of course, the man was easily subdued and brought into custody, but the damage was already done. Rin had ultimately died before the paramedics had a chance to arrive, held fast within her father’s arms. Luckily, she passed on rather quickly on account of a quick-passing shinigami, and ended up in the seventh district of Northern Rukongai. Eventually she was adopted into a mid-class family (Kisshou), because of her resemblance to their deceased child. While she spent several years in the company of a loving and attentive family, it seemed to eat away at her—as this was a closeness she had craved from her true family in life. It seemed vaguely confusing to her, and yet at the same time, held a note of perfection in its wake.

After a short while, Rin was discovered by a passing shinigami who had noticed the girl quite unconscious in the streets during her morning errands. After giving the girl some food and offering some idle conversation, he divulged that it would be in her best interest to apply for the Shinigami Academy, due to her fairly high level of Reiatsu. Rin had of course taken his advice, and within the year, had been accepted into the academy. Within her first few weeks, she had managed to befriend the majority of her class, which gave her a usual following of acquaintances and friends. It was in this year that she met one Kaikuro Chimei; a shinigami who outwardly appeared to have little interest in actually graduating, having entered his third repetition cycle of study. At first, the two didn’t exactly seem to notice one another, and went about their business accordingly. However, there would come a time when their fates would inevitably intertwine.

During a mission in the real world, a standard hollow training lesson ended with catastrophic consequences; their group’s leader ultimately losing his life to an onset of hollow. Most of the students had managed to escape from the scene while the hollow were busy devouring the teams lead, though a few had stayed behind in hopes of saving him. Rin had been one of the people to stay behind, and had, perhaps foolishly, chosen to engage the hollow with the help of two other lower-tier students. Of course, they were quickly subdued given their level of incompetence, and Rin herself had been unable to personally escape the hollows final blow. Her mind raced, her body wouldn’t move, and she ultimately prepared herself for bitter defeat. With her eyes closed, it came as a bit of a shock when she failed to realize the clawed grasp of the hollow. In reality, another student had remained behind—and had been holding the hollow’s form at bay on his own. Kaikuro had saved her.

He certainly had unreasonable skill for someone sitting in their apparent first year, but it was hardly something to consider given the fact that she was still alive. When Seieretei’s forces had arrived, the hollow was immediately destroyed; the strangely powerful Kaikuro still standing without as much as a tear in his clothing. They were soon back in Soul Society, and seemed to very quickly develop a friendship, which would, in the following year, blossom into a full-blown relationship.

Throughout the years, their relationship would only grow, despite some fairly untypical bumps along the way. Despite Kaikuro’s permanent placement in 12th division, Rin had been fairly agnostic in regards to placements; often switching out of divisions and into others in order to gain ranking increases. As in life, she had been unaccustomed to remaining in one place for very long. Fortunately this behaviour earned her a large amount of friends throughout the divisions. Soon, she would gain a captain's rank.

-Her favourite food is candied rum balls, while her least favourites are noted to be anything with a bitter or sour taste. Her favourite drink is spiked tropical punk. Her sweet tooth is also usually very bribable.
- Her Reiatsu is Pink in colour, similar to Yachiru’s.
- She’s been in five different divisions (started in 4th for a brief period of time, moved to 5th, later moved to 11th, then to 8th, and finally to 3rd.) Despite her power level, she retained seats below the rank of lieutenant, as her powers were often assessed as too risk-laden to merit a higher ranking. This fact gave Rin a strong desire to excel, and ultimately pushed her work ethic to impressive heights.
